Eighth Road Traffic Fatality

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) has confirmed the death of 22 year-old Troni Aisha Robinson-Burgess, marking the eighth road fatality of 2022. The Bermuda Road Safety Council wishes to express its sincerest condolences to the family of Miss Robinson-Burgess, and renews its commitment to fighting the crisis that is unnecessary collisions on Bermuda's roads.

The unfortunate accident took place on Thursday, July 28 at around 11:43pm just west of Horseshoe Road on South Shore. Miss Robinson-Burgess was traveling west carrying a 21 year-old passenger on the back of her motorcycle. A second 27 year-old male rider was traveling in the opposite direction when their vehicles collided.

Miss Robinson-Burgess was sadly pronounced dead at the scene while the other persons involved were taken to the hospital. BPS has reported that the passenger on Miss Robinson-Burgess' motorcycle was taken to the ICU with serious injuries. The male rider was hospitalized as well but the extent of his injuries are not known. He was however, arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
